NEUROMODULATORS
Neuromodulators used for facial and body aesthetics (also called neurotoxins) are a botulinum toxin, FDA approved and commercially known as Botox Cosmetic, Xeomin, Jeuveau, Dysport and Daxxify. Essentially, neuromodulators interrupt the signal between a nerve and the muscle it attaches to, which results in relaxation of the muscle. Small injections of a neuromodulator temporarily relax wrinkles and face tension, organically creating a more youthful skin appearance. Neuromodulators treatment softens wrinkles and helps to prevent them. Popular treatment areas are: forehead, frown lines (11’s), temples, under brows, upper eyelids, crow’s feet, under eyes, bunny lines, gummy smile, upper lip (smoker lines), mouth corners (marionette lines), below lower lip, chin, jawline, masseter, parotid gland, neck bands, trapezius muscles, therapeutic use (headaches, chronic migraines), underarms (armpits), hands, feet. A small amount of the neuromodulator is injected directly into the muscle, causing it to relax and gradually smooth out the appearance of the overlying skin.
Just before the actual treatment, your service provider will examine your face, ask about your goals and what areas you’d like to enhance. The treatment area will be cleaned/sanitized with alcohol wipes. Your comfort and safety are paramount; therefore, your service provider will determine an appropriate course of this treatment. Your service provider will also ask you about your preference outcome in the “natural or frozen” look:

natural look = subtle result with moderate movement
frozen look = minimal to no movement

Neuromodulators injections are non-invasive, minimally uncomfortable, have little downtime and produce quick results. The service provider confirms that the procedure is carried out under strict rules and regulations regarding the norms of hygiene and disinfection of the tools used. The service provider also confirms that he/she has received proper training regarding hygiene of providing the treatment. Small injections of botulinum toxin temporarily reduce muscle contractions. Therefore, there is less muscle movement, following a smoother skin appearance in the treatment area. Reduction of the dynamic lines (the ones you see when making facial expressions) is typically seen after day 3, with a maximal reduction seen at 2 weeks. Muscle movement in the treated area gradually returns 3 to 4 months after the Neuromodulators treatment. It is recommended to repeat the treatment at a two and a half-month interval for maintenance.
